Alf-Helge Aarskog joins Smir Group board

Alf-Helge Aarskog is the new board member in Smir Group

– We are very pleased that Alf-Helge Aarskog wants to contribute to the board of Smir Group. His knowledge of the important interaction between technology and biology will be important for our development. At the same time, Smir Group is growing, both geographically and as a company, where we know that Alf-Helge has a lot of experience that will contribute to us being able to do a good job on the board to facilitate our employees, says Frank Øren, owner and business developer at Smir Group.

– Personally, I particularly appreciate that Alt-Helge enjoys having a good discussion to get his views across, he continues.

Alf-Helge Aarskog has his education in aquaculture from NMBU, and has worked in various fields in the aquaculture industry where, among other things, he has been the CEO of Lerøy Seafood Group and Mowi. He currently holds various board positions within the industry and works part-time for NMBU and Eide Fjordbruk.

– I have known Frank Øren since he was operations manager at Fjord Seafood. Frank and the team have developed Smir Group in an exciting direction, where at the same time the company is moving into areas that are very interesting for the future development of the aquaculture industry. Here I hope that I can help contribute, while also learning more about fish farming, says Aarskog.

– We live for and from an industry that produces food. We will do our part to make this as sustainable as possible. It is very good today, but the industry is young and there is still a lot of room for innovation. With Alf-Helge on the team, we will be even better equipped to put the truly innovative ideas into action, concludes Øren.
